Progress continues on phase two. This is the first part that will give the railroad a reverse loop. I now have about 200′ of rail laid and ballasted. I also added the ties for a future switch that will be phase four, but that will probably be in summer of 2017. I need to do some measuring, but it will bring the mainline to about 3,600′ of continuous main line. Here are a few pics of the progress from last week and today.
Front of house, going up toward crossing. Driveway ahead on left.
Above photo taken near Golden Spike plaque. It reads: Nasonville Valley Railroad – Golden Spike Ceremony – May 24, 2008.
Heading toward the street from the crossing
Looking toward the switch to return. Bottom right is future switch to eliminate single track through tunnel.
