Waushakum has an informal run day every year on New Years Day. The photos below were all taken at the first run of the new Millenium, 01/01/2001. Temperatures were in the low 30s, which is fairly comfortable compared to other years. A few days earlier we had about 6" of snow, but some of our junior members came out and shoveled off one ground track, and paths through the yard. The clubhouse was open and heated to give some relief from the cold.

This year we had 5 engines. Two steam and one electric on the highline, one steam and one gas on the ground level track.

Somewhere under the snow there are 5 yard tracks.
You can see one turnout disappearing into the snowbank at the bottom of the photo.

The engine was built by the late Bill Van Brocklin,
and is currently owned by Andrew's grandfather Bob.

Rich Hubbard with his battery powered boxcab loco.

Steve Harrod came up from Kentucky just for this meet.
Well, maybe not, but we're glad he brought his British Prototype 2-6-2

Chris Colby running his 7.25" gauge RS-3, in what I consider
the the only proper paint scheme for the engine.

John Pillings running Russ Page's 7.25" gauge 0-4-0
